Little Portholes To Heaven

When I was little, I always thought of stars as tiny pinpricks into heaven. When I stared at the night sky, it was like God was giving us the tiniest glimpse of the light and wonder that will greet us one day there. I love to stare at the night sky and think of that childlike concept. Before knowing what stars are made of, before even understanding the universe as little as I do now, my young mind thought that maybe stars were God's way to show us the Home He has prepared for us beyond our wildest dreams. Little Portholes to Heaven. Maybe that's why I'm never really scared outside at night, if its not cloudy. God's saying "I'm here. You don't have to be scared. I'll get you through the darkness, and one day you'll join me over her, on this side of the darkness."
I think we can apply that to anything in our lives. God's here, even though we don't realize it, his love and light are shining toward us, reaching, and trying to show us he is right by our side, even in dark times.

"Here's My Life"

Once again I said my goodbyes
To those who I love most
My heart feels that familiar pain
As I long for home
'Cause this road is hard
When I feel so far

God I'm crying out tonight
'Cause I've given You my life
But I'm tired and I'm missing what's behind
So once more here's my life

On the day that You called my name
All that I knew changed
I found when I said yes that I'd never be the same
Though the call is hard
You are worth it all

God I'm crying out tonight
'Cause I've given You my life
But I'm tired and I'm missing what's behind
So once more

Even when the tears are falling
When I find I fear the calling
You remind me
Words You've spoken over my life
Promises I've yet to see
You comfort me

God I'm crying out tonight
'Cause I've given You my life
But I'm tired and I'm missing what's behind
So once more, here's my life

Can you feel my Pain?

My heart cries out
I listen to the voices all around
The people jumping up and down
Joy in their voices echoes in my head

When is it my turn?
When am I the one?
Who am I to be?
Who can be my friend?

You stand there laughing
I stand here with tears inside
You will never know my pain
Because I'll never show my thoughts

Can you hear my voice tonight?
For one moment feel my pain?
See that you aren't the only one who matters?
And I'm in need of just a friend?

God I want to feel you
A quiet balm on my soul
But tonight the air is silent
and I wonder, Are you there?

Flower in the Rain: Sung by Jaci Velasquez

You are the One; there's no one else
Who lifts me up
And gives me water from the well
But there's a hole
That seems to drain it all away
And once again I'm left in fear and doubt
When all my strength is crying out

CHORUS:
So here I am again
Willing to be opened up and broken like a flower in the rain
Tell me what have I to do
To die and then be raised
To reach beyond the pain
Like a flower in the rain

The evil wind, it blows a storm
To rock my world
Just when I think I'm safe and warm
I'm led astray far too easily
It's always hard for me to say I'm wrong
Until I know I can't go on

CHORUS

Lord, You have searched me
And know when I sleep and when I rise
You're familiar with all my ways
Even the darkness will shine
Like the day
When you look into my heart

Psalm 7

1 O LORD my God, I take refuge in you;
save and deliver me from all who pursue me,

2 or they will tear me like a lion
and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.

3 O LORD my God, if I have done this
and there is guilt on my hands-

4 if I have done evil to him who is at peace with me
or without cause have robbed my foe-

5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;
let him trample my life to the ground
and make me sleep in the dust.
Selah

6 Arise, O LORD, in your anger;
rise up against the rage of my enemies.
Awake, my God; decree justice.

7 Let the assembled peoples gather around you.
Rule over them from on high;

8 let the LORD judge the peoples.
Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity, O Most High.

9 O righteous God,
who searches minds and hearts,
bring to an end the violence of the wicked
and make the righteous secure.

10 My shield [b] is God Most High,
who saves the upright in heart.

11 God is a righteous judge,
a God who expresses his wrath every day.

12 If he does not relent,
he [c] will sharpen his sword;
he will bend and string his bow.

13 He has prepared his deadly weapons;
he makes ready his flaming arrows.

14 He who is pregnant with evil
and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment.

15 He who digs a hole and scoops it out
falls into the pit he has made.

16 The trouble he causes recoils on himself;
his violence comes down on his own head.

17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness
and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Praise God today for 5 things about YOU. Often, us girls forget to think of ourselves as worthy, but we truly are in God's eyes. So, take a few moments to think about it. God loves you, and he made you. Don't forget!

Long Time, No See :D

So I haven't written in a long time. This semester has been very busy, but that's no excuse. Track is challenging but fun.
Tonight at Youth Group, we talked a little about worshiping God, and what that means. My small group leader is a runner, like me, and she mentioned something about when she is running,she is worshiping God. I can totally relate to that. I feel like when I'm running I can talk to God very easily. So those are just some thoughts from tonight... not very much actually, but my mom says to get off! So, got to go! :D
